| RCE Just Keeps Getting Better! | ||
According to the Colorado Department of Education’s School Performance Framework, Running Creek Elementary School ranks in the top 25% of all elementary schools in the state in Reading, Writing and Math!!! Additionally, even though our scores were good in 2010, in 2011 we improved in all areas of academic achievement and growth! New ROAR Menu
New ROAR Menu
Our students have been doing such a great job of earning and saving their ROAR tickets (given out for positive behavior choices) that we have had to create a new menu of choices for students to "purchase" with their tickets. To see the new menu, click on the following link: RCE ROAR Menu
Students have the option of saving tickets to "purchase" privileges, or they can enter their tickets in the weekly and monthly prize drawings. Whatever they decide to do, we are just proud of all the tickets our students are earning, It shows that RCE students are demonstrating positive behavior!

Hats ON for Field Day
Hats ON for Field Day Friday, January 27 will be "Hats ON for Field Day". Once again, PTCO is sponsoring “Hat’s ON for Field Day” as a way of raising money for Field Day. On these special days, students may pay a dollar for the privilege of wearing a hat all day (the hat must be appropriate for school). We all had such a great time during Field Day this year, so let’s make sure it becomes an annual event. Be sure to bring a dollar and wear a hat on January 27!
Box Tops Contest

Please help us earn money for RCE by saving your “Box Tops for Education”. These box tops, which can be found on many items that you regularly purchase, can be redeemed by schools!! To help encourage students to save Box Tops, PTCO is sponsoring a contest for the class that brings in the most, with the winning class getting a special treat. Please save and send in your Box Tops, in a zip-loc bag, with your child’s teacher’s name written on the bag. The deadline this collection will be February 1st.

Jumping Jack Challenge
RCE Students Meet First Lady's ChallengeWe did it!! We made the Guinness Book of World's Records! Back in October, RCE students rose to the challenge set by First Lady Michelle Obama, to have the greatest number of people doing jumping jacks in a 24 hours period. Under Mrs. Ghidotti and Mr. Sundgren's direction, RCE students did jumping jacks during a specified time, helping to set the world record of 300,265 people jumping!

Growth Model
The Colorado Department of Education has developed a Growth Model tool called "SchoolVIEW", that can be used by educators and parents to gauge student growth on the Colorado state assessments (CSAP). SchoolVIEW allows us to:
